Thailand Fishing is a fishing blog, not a data business. It collects as little as it can get away with, and this page describes exactly what that is.

What is collected

If you just read the site

Anonymous usage measurement through Google Analytics 4: which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, what kind of device was used, how the visit arrived, and how far down pages people scroll. This is reported in aggregate. It is not used to identify you, and the site does not attempt to work out who you are.

If you sign up to the newsletter

Your email address, so that new guides can be sent to you. Nothing else.

If you send a message

Your name, your email address, and whatever you write in the message, so that you can be replied to.

What is never done with it

Cookies and similar technology

Google Analytics sets cookies to tell one visit apart from another and to recognise a returning browser. Webflow, which hosts this site, sets cookies needed for the site to function and to protect forms from spam. There are no advertising or retargeting cookies on this site.

Analytics measurement is served through a first-party connection on this domain rather than a third-party script. That improves accuracy; it does not change what is collected or who can see it.

Opting out of analytics

You can block analytics through your browser settings, a tracking-blocker extension, or Google's own opt-out browser add-on. Nothing on this site is gated behind analytics, so blocking it costs you nothing.

Who else can see your data

Three service providers process data on this site's behalf: Webflow, which hosts the site and stores form submissions; Google, which provides Analytics and Search Console; and Cloudflare, whose spam protection runs on the forms. Each is bound by its own privacy terms. These providers operate internationally, so data may be processed outside the country you are reading from.

How long it is kept

Analytics data is retained according to the property's Google Analytics retention setting and is aggregated after that. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages sent through the contact form are kept as long as they are useful for correspondence.

Your rights

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address. For anything else, use the contact page and say what you want done.

Children

This site is written for adult anglers and is not directed at children. No information is knowingly collected from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information, get in touch and it will be deleted.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date below is updated.
